Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering firm established over 30 years ago, specializing in test coordination and industrial commissioning. TES also assists its clients with their participation in design studies and the coordination of industrial equipment assembly.
As part of our activities, we have a position available for a Piping Engineering Construction – NDT CEL (f/m) for the Hinkley-Point EPR project in the UK.
To deliver the engineering required for the management of the HPC Non-Destructive Testing contract, which is separated from the MEH installation contract. It covers standard NDT processes (Radiography, Ultrasonic testing, Dye penetrant testing, Magnetic particle inspection) but also a more specific NDT : the Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT).
Dimensions:
MEH End to End Engineering team is currently circa 120 engineers
Piping Engineering team consists of circa 40 engineers
Piping Construction Engineering team is currently 9 engineers, however this will grow to match the workload on site;
Budget responsibilities:
management of the MEH JV (installation company) is owned by the Programme Senior Project Manager. The base scope (piping, electrical and HVAC installation) of the JV contract is £800m.
efficient management of resourcing according to a defined budget.
Principal Responsibilities:
Work in close relation with the NDT Contract Project manager and Technical Lead
Support:
the contractor documentation management by producing and updating the List of Document Required from the contractor and the associated Surveillance plan.
the development and implementation on-site of the PAUT solution to replace radiography.
the answering of Technical queries and Early Warnings
the coordination of activities between the Installation contract and NDT contract
Pré-requis du poste
Essential knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience working in an equivalent / related role related to NDT and/or contract engineering;
Meticulous and rigorous approach to engineering to achieve high professional standards;
Proven ability to successfully deliver engineering safely to the correct quality, time and cost in a fast paced, schedule driven environment;
Strong people leadership skills to coordinate efficient delivery of their scope through empowerment of their team members and drawing on the necessary support from others in the organisation;
Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders;
Ability to work autonomously but with awareness of own limitations;
Knowledge of contractual and commercial mechanisms.
Basic knowledge of different NDT technics.
Desirable knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in related engineering field;
Chartered Engineer with relevant engineering institute;
Detailed understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations;
Piping engineering, installation and/or commissioning experience
Working knowledge of French language an advantage;
Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
Experience or certification in Ultrasonic Testing
